Do What You Don’t Do

Hi Shanty and friends!!! Welcome to another wonderful blog challenge day!

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about comfort zones not only in scrapbooking but in life itself. It is only human nature to lean towards the familiar and stay clear from the unknown. Well, applying this thought to my scrapbooking I decided to list at the least 5 things that I normally don’t do when it comes to my work.

1. I don’t DO simple pages

2. I don’t DO paper peicings

3. I don’t DO centered photos

4. I don’t DO computer journalings

5. I don’t DO double pages

Now looking at this list I realized that inspiration and growth was right in front of me so I snatched one of these DON’T DOs and DID it!

This is a simple page that I completed and let me tell you it was a challenge for me not to load this page with my normal goodies. I kept it clean, simple, and pretty!

Here is the fun part for all of you! My challenge to you is to go make that list of 5 things that you don’t do and from out that 5 choose one. Play around with it, have fun with it, and you will be amazed what you can do when YOU do what you don’t do!

Till next time!

March’s Sketch Challenge

I am very excited to be taking over the reins of the monthly sketch challenge from Kim. I promise each month to bring you a great sketch from one of the talented DT members along with my layout based on that sketch!!

For my first month of this challenge I picked out a sketch that is pretty simple and can be done just as is or can be changed a little and dressed up. Now remember with these you don’t have to follow them exactly, just use them as a spring board to get your creative juices flowing.

Here is our March Sketch by Stinkerbelle:

The one thing that I love about this sketch is you could totally use different numbers of photos, two 4×6 photos, three 5×3 photos or one long panoramic photo.

This is my version of the sketch:

Now I challenge everyone to try this sketch, if I get at least 6 people to try it and they post it here I will put everyone who does a layout using the sketch’s name in a hat and have Evan pick out a winner for a little RAK from me on April 1st. Post your layout in the gallery and post a link here in the challenge thread to get your name put in the hat.
